Hiking the Eno this fall: ranger-led walks and what to check first

Eno River State Park runs free ranger-led hikes that need registration. Here is what is scheduled and how to sign up.

NC State Parks lists an Ecology Hike on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 (2–3:30pm, Pump Station Access) and a Fish Dam Road Hike on Monday, October 26 (2–5pm, Cabelands Access). Both are free and need registration: call (984) 250-1370 or email [email protected] (source: events.dncr.nc.gov).

The Fish Dam Road Hike covers about 4 miles, with at least a mile off trail and a major creek crossing, so wear proper shoes and bring water.

Parts of the park were closed in October 2026. Check trail status on ncparks.gov before you drive out.
